Pulmonary Rehabilitation

For most people, breathing is second nature, but for those who suffer with breathing problems and chronic disease such as Asthma, Emphysema, and Bronchitis, each breath can be a major accomplishment. For that reason Medical Associates Respiratory Care Department offers services to provide the highest quality care to patients with breathing problems. The respiratory therapists at Medical Associates are state licensed professionals with nationally recognized credentials.

We provide respiratory care services for patients of all ages with:

  • Asthma
  • Bronchitis
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Emphysema
  • Neuromuscular and metabolic disorders
  • Pneumonia
  • Pulmonary Fibrosis

  • Spirometry
  • Spirometry with Bronchodilators
  • Full Pulmonary Function Testing (Diffusions and/or Nitrogen Wash Out)
  • Oxygen Therapy/Ambulatory Oximetry/ Oxygen Requirements/Oxygen Recertification
  • Pulmonary stress test (Simple)
  • Hand held nebulizer treatments
  • Carbon Monoxide monitoring
  • Nitric Oxide Monitoring
  • Pulmonary Rehab Program (4 weeks)(Initial)
  • Progressive Pulmonary Rehab Program (After initial program)
  • Pulmonary support group meetings (monthly)
  • Vest therapy/ Chest physical therapy
  • Incentive Spirometry/ Peak Flow Monitoring
  • Aerosol Therapy/Sputum Inductions
  • Inhaler Instructions (MDI's)
  • MDI Instructions

Medical Associates Pulmonary Rehabilitation focuses on education, breathing techniques and exercise, for improving and maintaining respiratory health.

Program Objectives
