Frequently Asked Questions

What is audiology?

Audiology is a branch of science involving hearing, balance and related disorders.

Does audiologist dispense or sell hearing aids?

Yes. In addition to hearing testing and dispensing, an audiologist can recommend hearing aids and fit them as well.

Why should I choose Medical Associates audiologist?

Dr. Eno has a Doctorate of Audiology degree and over 30 years of experience. Also, Dr. Eno takes pride in the outstanding quality of service and professionalism provided throughout the hearing aid process.

What does a hearing aid cost?

It doesn't depend upon the style (in the ear, behind the ear, RIC) of the aid, it's the circuitry that goes inside the aid that determines the price. It's convenient to group these circuits into three categories: standard, advanced and premium. The more sophisticated the circuit, the higher the cost.

What circuit is best for me?

It depends upon your lifestyle. For someone who is very socially active, the most advanced technology is the best choice. For someone who is not very socially active, the standard technology may be sufficient.

Does insurance pay for hearing aids?

Medicare does not pay for hearing aids. Private insurance may or may not depend upon your policy.
